Default 68 turn flasher question

Does the 68 use one or two flashers. I know the later ones use one for the hazard flasher usually located on the fuse panel and then one for theturn signals behind the passenger dash pad. Helping out on a 68 over the computer and he can only find one flasher. Do the 68s use only 1?
I can only find one on the wiring diagram.

There's 2. The other is under the center console forward of the ashtray.

I believe that was true of the early '68s, my June built '68 is attached to the backside of the passenger side dash pad.

This may be an early 68 then because he sent me a picture with the passnger dash pad removed and there is nothing there not even the wiring. He is checking the center console now.

Attached are pages from my 68 AIM, the flasher circuit I bought from Zip (the only 12v flasher circuit they list), which I installed @ the top of the fuse panel, and images of the Tridon 12v circuit I pulled from the forward ashtray location. Not even Tridon lists this item anymore, so I'm not sure what to replace this with. Do I simply use 2 of the same?

Forward ashtray wiring drawing in AIM:

Item 13 in parts ID on wiring diagram for forward ashtray circuit:

Image 1 of the removed flasher circuit from forward ashtray location:

Image 2 of the circuit with ID:

Image of the 12v circuit from Zip that I installed on fuse panel - and only 12v flasher circuit on Zip:

Not as heavy or robust in terms of the Tridon unit - which looks like I pulled off an old black and white tv.
