Please help troubleshooting heater blower
I am trying to figure out why my heater blower does not work on my '80. I checked the power wire (the purple wire) and get a very small reading through it of about 2-3 volts with my meter. Switch position does not seem to matter. The resistor (high speed?) looks fine, so I cleaned the contacts and put it back. The relay has power to it but I can't determine if it works. I have not tried to run power directly to the motor as it is so difficult to reach, but I will jack the car up and try it later. I need a little guidance from the group. Thanks!
Edit: heater blower works fine hooked directly to 12v. No issue there. Yes, the fuse is good. Double-checked it.

Fuse if good, might have a bad connection.
Clean all connections fuse, blower, gnd., resistors & switch.
The only problem I have had was a power wire from the speed switch at underhood connector near pass. rear of ig. shield near firewall. A wire was melted internally at the connector.

Go to the Dark Blue wire and see if the voltage is changing with the switch inside the car.
If it is, then I'd suspect the hi blower relay is the problem.
If it is not then go to the resistor and see if it shorted out.
You can test the switch to see if it's working properly from the chart above. Just go to go to the tan, lt blue and brown wires to see if they pick up or drop voltage in their respected positions.

Thanks for all the help! The diagram and previous suggestions will surely lead to a solution. I'll try them and post back later.
