Default Dash pad installed in the 82...gauges next....

Finally installed the dash pad in the 82, so far very happy with the results, worked out good......

hasn't looked like this in months.....

nice even fit across the windshield, starting to look like an interior again

gauges ready for install...

new circuit, old one was starting to come apart....

speedo & tach together once more, also new bulbs added....

the only problem so far is the fitment of the lens cover over the gauges, the 2 small tabs at the bottom of the cover do not fit into the housing correctly, it seems like they will have to be filed down to make a good fit. has anyone had this problem before???

Looks GREAT. I'm in the middle of doing the same to my 81.

I'm really worried about putting in the center instrument console.

Part of the reason I'm replacing the dash is because the small light at the top of the center instrument cluster tore a big gash in the dash.

Nice job. Looks good so far.
Not sure on a 82 but if you have mechanical speedo make sure you connect before installing all the way so you can get your fingers high enough to connect the cable to the speedometer.

Default gauges are in......

Finally got the gauges installed yesterday and they all work and light up, imagine that!!!
Had to make adjustments and do some tweaks to make them fit as best as possible. Ed was a big help as usual and between the two of us, we got the job done.
Speedo works as we connected the drill to the top cable, but I still have to install the bottom cable, need to get the car higher to get both hands around the coupling. Might just wait til it gets inspected next week when it is up on the lift.
Had to cut down the tabs in the center gauge cluster in order to make it fit properly and some other changes were needed to make the fitment work. There is still a medium size gap on the passenger side, but the radio is not make in yet, and we are hoping that when installed it will pull the gauge cluster closer to the pad on that side. If not, will probably have to modify the bracket for the radio to make it happen.
Overall the dash pad is good, but there were some area's where the fitment could have been better.
So after almost 6 months, almost everything is back in, it's starting to look like a Vette once again....

Default finally got photobucket to work......pics

pics of the install......took the Vette out tonight, gauges working great, did have the check engine light come on, it put out code 24 the VSS
Vehicle Speed Sensor, because the speedo is not hooked up yet, other than that, all is good........
I do wish that I had upgraded the lights in the dash, but did not do, maybe in the future......

Very nice job!!! I have had a couple of small cracks repaired in my dash but seeing what you have done I am thinking of trying this also.

Default additional thoughts......

after looking at my own pics once again, I am seeing some fitment problems that I have issues with.....that being the gap on the sides of the speedo & tach cluster. did not notice before, but have now. of course when you are driving and looking straight on at the gauges, it isn't noticed, but looking from the side, well it is noticable. I know it is only a driver, so I can't let it bother me to much, will see if I can make an adjustment.....
