What type of vacuum is a stock Delco HEI Distributor looking for ????

I have an Edelbrock 1406, it has both types available.
Is the PCV valve port on a 1406 Manifold Vacuum ????????
Can anyone tell me how they have hooked up there hose to the Evaporation Cannister and a 1406.
