Hi, I just reinstalled the dash in my 70 coupe. Problem is that the engine wont turn over on the starter. I have power to the coil but nothing to the starter solenoid from the key switch. I have a 70 wiring diagram and the AIM but this car has been fitted with a 77 tilt tele steering column which is confusing me with its connections. Has anyone got a clear wiring diagram for a 77 that would help?

You have checked the 4 battery connections and the are good, right?
Have you checked the neutral safety switch (clutch switch).?

Yes, checked battery connections, no problems there,everything works except the start circuit, there is an aftermarket alarm fitted to this car could be a cut-out on this circuit? Alarm seems to turn on-off etc okay though.
Thanks for the wiring diagram, I will start working my way through this with the 70 diagram as well.

I dont know what all you dissambled to remove the dash but the harness that goes through the steering column could be faulty. happened to me. wiggle the wires and see.

Found that the lockout switch to prevent starting unless in neutral or park was sticking, coincidentally decided to do this just while I have the dash out.
