Well it all arrived late yesterday. Unfortunately I am gone for work for the next 2 weeks so I did not even get to open the boxes.

I made the same swap from Bilsteen to the VS QA1 coilover set up (incl their shortened sway bar) on my '70 a couple of years ago. Dropped the ride height about 2".
It is a huge improvement and I'm sure you will like it. Did you go with dual adjust rears? Enjoy!

Both front and rear are dual adjustable. I'd did also go with VS shortened rear sway bar.

id be interested to see how much you like it. i just installed the 550 front springs cut 3/4 of a coil and 360 rear spring with Qa1 shocks and can't believe the difference ( one original front spring was broken ) i still have 15" tires so if / when i upgrade it should be even better. i just wonder if its mostly the reduction in unsprung weight that helps the most. does anyone have any test results like lap times or skid pad data?

Here are all the pieces

Had about 2 hours this morning and got the front installed

Now I will be gone for another week so the rear will have to wait another week or so. It looks great so far. Can't wait to see the performance.

As always life gets in the way. My sons car died, so we had to put it to rest and get him another one. Work has picked up and been busy with that. Almost done with renovations at the beach house, so, I had to buy another toy for down there

The suspension is done. I just have to dial in the ride height and get the alignment close. Then it's off to the tuner to set the computer and then I can drive it.

Gordon, I've been a Honda and Polaris man, but your 260LX is just bad to the bone

What kind of MPG and are you running it out in the open ocean?

The mpg depends like our cars how heavy you are on the throttle. If just cursing along it does pretty well. If you are constantly into the boost it sucks fuel like crazy. As far as where I ride, I am on a barrier island in NJ so a lot of it is riding in the bay which is relatively calm compared to the ocean. I have not ventured out Into the ocean yet but I will for sure.

I love the open ocean, it is a bit of a challenge when they have small craft warnings. It is like moto-X riding on a ever changing track Just get off the gas when airborne. These bigger watercraft really land smooth. We took our two on a 200 mile trip one day with 4 people. I figured that max economy cruise was a little over 30 mph. We went a little faster on the way home because of white caps and the wind kicking up. We went through 68 gallons for the total 400 miles. Like 5.88 mpg.

Honda aquatrax r-12X Goofing off maybe 4 mpg. On the open ocean I've run it with the speedo reading 70 mph

I was going to ask how your outer axle spines were when you put all your parts on the new trailing arms. My original ones were rotated nearly a whole tooth

My outer axles the old ones were turned some when it removed them. I have a new set in their now that only have about 20 miles on them so nothing new on that.

That sounds like quite a trip on the skiis. I'm looking forward to some distance rides on mine. Cape may which is the very southern most part of Nj is about 60 nautical miles from where I am at. Let me get used to the ski then I will take a longer ride. This ski is at 1000 pounds and I have riden a few like this before. It is a very nice riding ski that should do about 70 top end. I have already found a few places that sell high performance kits for it. Basically a kawasaki Ninja motor with a blower on it. Should be a lot of fun.

Gordon, Nice ski! Looks like loads of fun I like the idea of modding it

The coil over kit is looking great. I'm looking forward to your opinion when you have it back on the road. Do you know who manufactures the coil overs for Vansteel? Nevermind, I see they are QA1's. Wondering what you would buy for replacements, and if you could shop around online if you needed to replace the shocks in the future, or do you have to get them from Vansteel?

Ride Tech has a new C2/3 suspension probably the best out there but, I'll try my Greenwood 5 link on my build. I might buy the Ride Tech front system if they will sell that alone....solves all the camber curve problems.
