I was thinking of installing straps similar that 4x4 units use and lock tight to prevent the fasteners to loosen.

Rack and pinion, not a standard steering box,so there is no adjustment. In my case I needed about 6-7 Degrees Positive castor.
18 X 9 wheels with 255-45 tires pretty wide. I have the lower rubber stop. no upper. Had no problems with anything hitting or rubbing.
It wont come loose, I thought the same thing, I have great alingment guy and he said dont even worry about it. check them twice a year and forget about it.You can see the rubber bottom stop here.
