wheres the plug to check oil level in munci tranny?

There are two plugs, on the pass side. The upper plug is for filling lower is for draining. You fill the upper one until oil comes out and that is the correct level.

Thanks. haven't crawled under the car yet to check it out. Is the upper plug pretty accessible? If needed what type of lube is used?

Your a fortunate 1 to have a drain plug.
My '68 had to be evacuated by sucking out the old fluid and refilling
via the fill hole.
Not going anywhere for a while grab a snickers...... came to mind.
