Power steering control valve?

Power steering control valve?
My 76' has been having a major steering issue. When driving, if you let go if the wheel. It turns itself very hard to the left. I looked around and noticed the power steering control valve on that side is leaking pretty heavily when you turn the wheel. Is that the cause of my problem? If so is there any tricks to taking out and replacing it? Anything to look out for or avoid? I appreciate any help you can give!
