Update, No brake lights!!! New turn signal switch
Guys
No brake lights, brake switch is good, wiring ok too,
Now when the of the car is off and I put turn indicator to left and hit brakes I get left side brake lights, no right side. If I move to the right turn and hit brakes get right brake lights, no left
I'm wondering if the China made indicator switch is bad and that is why I have no brake lights. In the AIM book it shows the brakes tied into the indicator switch.
This car is in a parade tomorrow and I need to get it going. Any suggestions on where the trouble might be.
Super Thank you

I don't know what year you have, but on most the white wire from the brake switch goes directly to the turn signal switch. When you turn on the turn signal, it interrupts the voltage from the brake switch and inserts the voltage from the turn flasher. It sounds like you have bad contacts in your turn signal switch. And yes, cheap Chinese switches have lots of problems like this. If the turn signals work normally, the switch is most likely your problem

Here's a possibility, make sure your emergency flashers are not turned on. I have seen the flasher button get pushed, but the flashers don't work for whatever reason, so nobody knows it's turned on. This makes some weird things happen.

I have to order a new switch, so I'll clean it and put it back together.
Thanks for the help.

I have some real Micky mouse going on here but I secured the hazard light switch to the on position and twisted the leads together to allow power to get to the rear brake lights.
It HAS to make the parade!!!

It appears from the picture you posted, you have a 68. Unfortunately, there seems to be a lot of problems with the repro 67-68 switches, both US and foreign made ones.
I believe the switch you have, is either an original one, or the US made repro. The US switch is supposedly being made by GM's original supplier. They can be identified by the "BPM" molded into the switch, which isn't present on the foreign one.

Don't be afraid to mention the year of the car in your question. They really aren't all the same.

It was a Chinese special from Corvette Central, and I thought it was kid toy quality right from the new box. It seems Zip, Ecklers, Paragon all have the same Chinese replacement.
Letric Limited sells the good one. The are made in the USA by them. $100 bucks.
Yes it's a 68, sorry should have made that clear to make the problem easier to diagnose.
Thanks for chiming in.

Running the parade, easily the crowd favorite, everybody thinks it's a 69, but it's a 68, passing the family restaurant my In-laws have owned since 1962. Deerfield's Italian Kitchen.

Your family photo makes me dizzy!
Thank you so much for letting us know how to obtain an original, made in USA, 68 turn signal switch.
Eckler's had someone making the 67-68 switch years ago, for them to sell to everyone, including dealers. This person had the original GM tooling.
I was told this by an old antique car parts company, about eight years ago, after they tried to get me one for a spare.
I purchased one about four years ago from Volunteer Vette Products, After mine crapped out and Ernie at Wilcox helped me trouble shoot the problem, but did not have any in stock.
It looked like my shot original ones. Only a very small sheet metal retainer was missing on the new reproduction one.
I have had my 68 coupe for 43 years, 117,000 miles and this is my third turn signal switch. Lou.

Guys
So installed a new brake switch from Lectric Limited in Chicago. Great quality, heavy molded plastic and correct factory markings. Made in the USA and only 107$ with tax. The big Corvette parts guys want anywhere from 90$- to 110$ for the foreign replacement.
I have brake lights again!
The only thing that I would mention as it is pretty straight forward of an install, is when mounting the turn signal stalk on the new switch you use a good quality rivet as you only got one shot to do it.
The new switch is at the bottom.
Letric Limited specializes in factory Corvette style replacement parts, date coded if need be from 1953-1982.
This switch is also the same as the 1967 switch for our C2 Brethren

This same switch also fits many makes of GM vehicles from 1967- 1969
