Help Removing AC compressor on a 1980
Replacing the right front shock absorber and trying to move the compressor out of the way to get access to the top shock nut. Would like the compressor moved toward the water pump while still connected to the AC hoses. The top and bottom mounting bolts have both been removed. The compressor seems stuck on the bottom mount. How can I free it up without causing any damage to the hose connections?

not sure if 80 is the same as 78 but the diagram below seems to show more than 2 bolts having to be removed or loosened.

Sometimes there is a sleeve on the compressor, like the one on an alternator, that gets squeezed as you tighten up the bolts. If that seems like the case all you need to do is wiggle it a little and that will push the sleeve out enough to remove the compressor from the bracket. Not sure if that's your situation.
