Need to replace my valve springs in my 1969 l68 .What are the size and good quality springs to get Thanks

I got it wrong with that last number should have been G M 3970627 can any one confirm this for me thanks

I do not have the answer to your question but would like to know how you decided they need to be replaced. I will taking the heads of my 69/L36 soon (#5 exhaust valve) and questioning if I need to replace the springs. I assume the shop that reworks the heads will share their knowledge but your post intrigued me. Thanks

I have got two broken springs #1 and #3 exhaust so need to replace them thanks

here is the page from the '68 GM specification manual, you can see the specs on the valve springs for the 427, buy good quality springs that match the factory specs and you'll be just fine. I am using Crane valve springs 99893-16 in my 68 L71 but the cam has been changed to a mechanical roller from the original mechanical cam, but the L68 would have been hydraulic anyway...

these spring are no longer sold thru GM and they will work if you can find them
