Where does this hose go?
Got my engine worked on and saw there was a hose not hooked up. Shop said it was not hooked up when they got it.
Any ideas where this goes or if it is needed?
also, where do my two (one short, one long) hoses coming out of the bottom of the air cleaner connected to the green AC go?
thank you!!!

Followed the line down to a "Y" connector that one hose seems to be going into a round canister type cylinder and the other into the fender somewhere. Idk

Hi 78,
It appears that there was originally a T in the hose from the pcv valve hose for the vapor canister hose to connect to.
Regards,
Alan

Burning Brakes
The two hoses on the bottom of the air cleaner control the Thermac air valve in the air cleaner snorkel. The longer one goes to the Thermac valve and the short one goes to the vacuum port at the base of the carb in the back.

Hi 78,
The vapor canister was part of a sealed fuel tank system that first appeared on cars being sold in California in 1970 and then on ALL cars in 1971.
The purpose of the canister was to accumulate gas fumes from the tank when the engine wasn't running and then have the fumes drawn into the engine by the hose running from the canister to the carb to be burned.
Some folks leave this system in operative but that sometimes leads to people reporting gas smells in their garage.
It's really up to you to decide if you want to have this system working or not.
Regards,
Alan

The other is the air cleaner hose that connects to the backside of a port of the carb on the bottom.
Look up Wilcox (vendor) emissions system hose schematic. It shows the various hose connections and serves as a great trouble shooter.

D'oh! The 90 elbow is missing. I tried to find it on Ecklers and couldn't. Do they remake the part?
Thanks!!!
