Default C3 headlights problem (vacuum)

Hi !

I need your help !
In my '74 Coupe headlight doors doesn't work properly.
Right headlight opens first - smooth, but left doesn't - sometimes it opens all the way, sometimes half way. If I open it by hand - it opens smoothly (without any problems).
They closes without any problem.
What is creating this problem ?

Thanks,
Paul,

binding in the actuator or hinge? Try swaping the hoses around and see if the same light does the same thing.

Each headlight is controlled by a relay valve. They are just under the front panel ij front of the hood. You will see them once you open the hood. To check the relay valve, simply switch the vacuum hoses to the opposite light. It the other light now opens the relay is faulty but if the same light is still not opening, then the seal in the light assembly is bad. Relays do go bad as do the headlight actuator seals. It is a very simple system
