Default this is what the Cam companies suggest what do yall think?

I called three cam manuf. today below is their recommendatins what do you guys think? first here is some info on my engine

BLOCK:
454 cid
compression = 9 to 1

ROCKER ARM ARTIO: 1.7

HEADS:
gm #3909802
oval port, closed
101 cc

INTAKE:
gm# 3947801

CARB:
edelbrock #1910 850 cfm vac. secondaries

EXHAUST:
hooker side pipes w/ glass packs

3.70 gears and stock th350 transmission and torque convertor


HERE ARE THEIR CAM RECOMENDATIONS

CRANE RECOMENDATION

Application Series & Grind Number 103072
Fair idle, moderate perf. usage, good mid-range to upper RPM torque and HP, mild bracket racing, auto trans w/2500+ converter, 3000-3400 cruise RPM, 9.5 to 11.0 comp. ratio advised. Basic RPM 2500-5500 Energizer

I would go with Comp.
I just sold a 79Z with a sb400. I ran a Comp Extrem 294, with a holly 850.
It was a real fast car. :D

I'd go with the Comp Cams 270/278 with the 1.7 rockers. It should be mild enough for the street, but with enough guts to have fun at the track.
