1968 front fender chrome vent inserts
rolleyes: I want to install a set of the chrome vents on my '68. The problem is each fender has four vents but I can only gain access to the inside of the fender on the front three. The back vent on each side is completely sealed with no obvious access. How can I install the back vent since I cannot gain access to the inside of the fender to attach the nuts??

Re: 1968 front fender chrome vent inserts (GR8-68)
The last vent is supposed to be closed. 68's and 69's are all that way.
The louvers mount with rubber "T" nuts, not screws, not nuts and bolts. Each louver has 2 screw holes, one on top, one on the side. The fiberglass louver openings are drilled and the rubber "T" nuts are inserted in the fiberglass. Then the louvers are retained with machine screws into the "T" nuts. That's the way the "factory" did it.
The side louver trim is technically a 69 only option, but many 68 owners have added them. Hope this helps. :) Chuck
