1970 Pro Touring Corvette Coupe
Heya all! Haven't posted in here for a really long time, but I still have the vette, however I need to sell it due to other expenses (finishing my GMC Typhoon resto and building my 2013 Drift car for competition in the Midwest Cup) Anyway here are the details taken from my CL ad:
Here are a few pics:
Some photos of it before the teardown:
I can supply some more pics per request. My cell number is in the CL ad, but please no spamming. Otherwise I obviously accept email or a PM through the forum. My email is fronzoos@yahoo.com Thanks for looking everyone!
For sale is my 1970 Corvette Coupe Pro touring project car. I'll start out with a little history on the car. I bought it from a local muscle car dealer in April of 2006 complete and wearing the original color. I drove the car for a few years taking it to a lot of car shows around the midwest (including Car Craft Summernats) I can't describe how wonderful the car is to drive. And very reliable. I have had no problems with it ever, even taking it on 900+ mile road trips. But due to the very old lacquer paint fading, the body need attention, so I tore into it. All the original paint was removed down to fiberglass, epoxied, then primed with flat black primer. Since then I have purchased a few other vehicles and projects pushing the vette aside to the back burner. But like many muscle cars like this it needs to be sold for more "important" things. I have a few things to pay for and need to finish up my Typhoon resto, so here she is! Now on to some details...
1970 Corvette Coupe
L46 350 c.i. 350 hp engine. (Numbers matching down to the carb)
Tremec T56 6 speed manual (original trans is gone)
VBP brakes and adjustable suspension
VBP frame braces
17" Wheel Vintique Chrome Rally wheels
255/50/17 Nitto NT450 tires (front)
275/50/17 Nitto NT450 tires (rear)
Manual Steering
Manual Windows
No A/C
Frame has No rust and is in great shape along with the bird cages.
Body has no cracks or stress damage
Front and rear metal bumpers and grills are in great shape
The car really is a drivers car, and would be awesome for track use! It's a "bare bones" car right from the factory and is a serious performer. The T56 6 speed is excellent, and easily gets 25mpg on the highway with the Q-Jet. Only needs minor body work to be completely finished. AND you can choose your color! Tires are in good shape and the size fits the wheel well perfectly. Only minor rub on speed bumps. Fronts do not rub at all, even on full lock. On to what it needs...
Most of the interior is out (original stuff was in sad shape) Does need new carpet, trim panels and new seat upholstery, which can be bought as a kit from Zip Corvette products.
Needs full exhaust from the headers back, however I do have the stainless OEM stock exhaust tips.
Minor body work to finish the exterior, existing work was done by a reputable body tech professionally using only DuPont products.
Needs a new windshield installed, however I can supply a new one with purchase
Last it will need new emblems and door handles to complete the flawless finished look (I do have the originals though)
All in all it is a great car and needs a new home. Its an awesome opportunity to own a timeless classic pro touring muscle car and finish it how you want to, while saving a lot of money in the process. (I purchased it for $15k in 2006) It's definitely a head turner, expect a lot of attention with it! I'm asking $6000, but I am open to offers, so don't be afraid to ask! Serious inquires only please though. Car comes with tons of C3 Corvette literature as well! I can supply more pictures upon request. I am looking forward to hearing from prospective buyers! Thanks for looking!

Ha yes true, I'll get back into early C3s when I'm older. Still my favorite years of corvette! Sorry all, I have been really busy but I'll be replying to PMs soon, but as of now I have a sale pending. But of course I will keep you all updated! Thanks for all the responses!

No, the car is clean and has a title. Just need it gone. Since I bought the car I have went through 5 pay/job cuts (literally) and now with other things going on I just don't have time or interest or really the cash for it any more. And I need the moola for other things. (I'm a big Syclone/Typhoon guy) Just want to see her go to a good home now! The pending buyer is supposed to be stopping by soon, so I'll let ya all know how it goes. Thanks again everyone.
