WTB: 68-72 Project car
Hey guys. My dad and I are looking to start a project car, (68-72 corvette) and i've been looking at used corvettes for severall months now, and for the most "fun" with this car, my dad and I want to start a restoration project. So here is what we are trying to find. (best case scenario)
-the car has no engine or tranny
-motor mounts are of size for a 454ci
-Frame is in decent shape (not too much rust)
-fiberglass in good shape
-not worried about paint
-an intirior that isn't completely destroyed
-working gauges
So if any of you guys have corvette for sale that falls under at least most of these qualities please don't hesitate to contact me through this post or PM.
THANKS!

Hi Matt,
I believe you can eliminate one item from your list.
The motor mounts/ frame were the same for 350 and 427/454 cars.
But there are a few other differences in the cooling system and running gear between sb/bb cars.
So depending on how much of the car you're going to change you may want to look for a car that was originally a big block car... if you're going to change everything, it may not matter as much.
The frame varied SLIGHTLY if the car was auto or 4 speed.
Good Luck!
Regards,
Alan

Auto cars had the removable cross member. 4 speed cars welded in place. I had a automatic car that i converted over to a 4 speed. Loved that removable cross member for R/R'ing the tranny.
