Pretty sure your painter put the mirrors back on the wrong side...top of the mirror should be flat not slanted inward...if it is wrong...it happens a lot...

Duffman..Great looking '78 SA!... The work and expense you have in the old gal..make your price very good..THO 10 years old, the paint work looks great..NOT inexpensive to have the body-paint redone ]properly with modern paint..ANY issues with rust..? Car looks garage kept and well taken care of..Assume the pwr antenna still works?DO you have the original dealer invoice copy or window sticker owner's manual- provenance?...We've had our SA for 1.5 yrs..2nd owner, sold in Oregon(never salt on roads)..but after going thru the car to my satisfaction..we have more in it than your asking price...

We love ours.Even with the L48 350 engine..it gets up and goes far quicker-faster than the law allows.except perhaps on the German Autobahn..

Hope you find a new owner who will appreciate the classic 25th Anniversary Corvette and care for and maintain it well as you have done.Jim

Thanks for the kind words.

No rust issues - while in the rust belt, it's been a warm weather toy all of it's life. The original owner was a GM manager who bought a new Z06 for his retirement gift.

While intact, the power antenna just crapped out this summer. I installed a hideaway electronic antenna under the dash when I put the Retrosound stereo in that is working pretty well. The original 8-track needs attention.

We've enjoyed the car for the past 15+ years. A friend in the auto body restoration business gave us the "friends and family" price on the repaint. He's quite good - in fact I was at his shop Monday and he's working on a Ford exec's GT. Pretty good recommendation.

We picked up a 70 El Camino recently (a long-time quest) and it's time to move the vet onto a new owner.

This is a good buy for 8k! other half would love it. Timing...will keep an eye on this.

Do you still have the manifolds, smog pump etc? Likeit the way it is but our smog laws suck would all have to be put back on.

Look at the original post....it does say that the smog pump & manifolds are to go with the car. I'm wondering about the a/c statement...."needs attention"....could mean the compressor needs replacing, and/or plumbing needs addressing.....could be an expensive venture in getting that working again.....

At $8 grand for such a fine looking car- I'd consider repairs like AC to be reflected in the price the seller's proposed. After all, you won't need it for several months!

I've noodled on this car as well but have always thought I'd rather stick to 'desert southwest' cars-- but that one's certainly tempting- even with the cost of shipping.

I'm appreciating all of the late fall interest! I've been traveling a good bit, and just escaped the fires in eastern TN.

I hope I answered all of Sluefoot's questions as well.

Honestly, the A/C has been a low priority since I never drive with the tops on - if it's not good "top down" weather, it stays in the garage. The A/C system is complete and intact, and the compressor engages when it's turned on, just not much in the way of cool air. I'm sure it needs recharged at a minimum, and probably has leaks. It was changed over to R-134 back in the 2002-2003 timeframe and the air worked at that point.

It's a solid, but not perfect car. We've had a lot of fun with it, and think it's time for something different after 14 years.

It fits well and looks "appropriate", as opposed to a modern-looking unit with LED displays and such. Sound quality is good, although I've picked up some ignition noise I need to chase down.

My 70 El Camino has the same system and it works well. I'd recommend it.

Duffman..Glad you made it home..The Gatlinberg TN fires have been terrible..Prayers from Oregon for those affected by the devastation as well as those doing the damage control..Jim
