Yes, and probably more. I've been trying to get the proof from the shop near where I used to live (almost two thousand miles away), but the owner's wife is very sick, and it's hard for him to get his accountant to provide the stored box with my files. I don't blame readers for being skeptical about this 'story'. Will have to again call the shop owner to get the files sent.
One look under the car, however, will show that almost everything's new. It was one of those cars that, as the deeper they got into repairs, ever more was found that needed to be fixed or replaced.
It will be a steal for whoever buys it. I need the garage space.

Posting a few pictures would go a long way towards showing where $160k was spent.

I'll email pictures to anyone who sends me a PM, as it seems posting pictures here is not simple.

Using photobucket and copying the IMG link there, or pulling them from your hard drive by clicking the "paper clip" icon here is actually pretty straightforward.

Well, they just Crowd Funded $300,000 to restore the Ruby Slippers from the Wizard of Oz. I personally think that any old lady that you find walking around Michaels Arts and Crafts stores could do it for about $25 (that's 25, not 25,000).

Here are the pics as supplied by Mike6811 (no suspension pics). Looks pretty sharp, wish my budget was a little higher...

Nice looking vette. Next time just advise us you spent more than twice the asking price restoring it. Most of us would not questioned that. GLWTS

Thanks for wishing me well in the sale. But didn't my original post tell readers the amount spent in restoring and the asking price? Not understanding your advice.

Because 160k is completely rediculous.

You have no idea of how much I agree with you. It just got so out of hand.
I do hope I can get the proof from the shop that did the work though.

Photos look nice, more would be helpful. Would like to know when the work was completed (date and how many miles put on since). I don't think the 160K is significant because it does sound a bit excessive and I don't believe anyone would ever recoup that expense. Unless the radiator is solid 24 karat gold. When you put money in these cars, it gets addictive, but you can't do it and expect to get it back. You do it for your own satisfaction. Looks like you had a class job done and paid the owner's wife's medical bills at the same time.

You're correct; I don't plan to get anything more than the price I'm asking. It'll just be written off as something I never should've continued with.
Yes, I'm sure my payments helped with her medical bills, but she may be too far gone already (probably recurring cancer).

Thank you for your response, but I don't think I received an answer to the key questions. I would really like to know when the work was completed (6 months ago, 2 years ago?) and how much mileage has been put on it since. I am in the market and debating whether to get a project to be built to my specs or something like yours, already complete. And, my wife has to decide whether she will let me buy another car. Whatever I buy ill most likely be a red vert with black interior.

Sorry for the delay. It took about a year to complete and was delivered in 2014. Current mileage (new speedo with odometer at zero) is 6700. Hope this helps.
Forgot to add: 100-watt amp, two 6x9 rear speaker boxes.

You should take it to Scottsdale in Jan '17 as it is not too far away. You might sell it as she is a nice one. There might be someone with deep pockets who wants it.
I will be there for part of the event. Shoot me a PM if you still have it for sale in Jan and I might be able to stop by, look her over, do a test drive and take a bunch of pics.
I had an 81 that had been converted to a convertible several years ago. I rebuilt and hopped up the engine and still have the scars on my hands from doing suspension and exhaust work!
Old pic from when I sold her at a Bloomington Gold Mecum auction:
