Golden Front & Rear Emblems
I have an '89. The front and rear emblems are weathered real bad. They appear to have been a gold color at one time. I found a gold plated front and horn emblem at the corvette swap meet in Knoxville; however, searching on the web I only find either black or special edition gold emblems for the rear. Anyone know where I can get a rear emblem in gold plate (I don't think the one's I bought in Knoxville are real gold plate <$'s) The one I have is checkers and bowtie. Thanks

You'll have to get at least one of your front teeth gold-capped also though.

Mid america, I have had mine for a long time now with no problems with them. My teeth are also white.

Mid America has them as folks have stated. Make sure you use the right size chase nut from ACE hadware when installing them. These are not screw back emblems like factory but have two posts (pins) that the right size chase nut thread cuts into the posts. If you use the wrong nut or the factory nut you just removed from your facotry emblems your pulling off the car the post will snap off from the backside of the emblem. Another option are these are self adhered with 3M sticky tape so its debateable if the chase nuts even need to be used.
When removing the factory emblems take your time. I used nylon weedwacker line the real thin stuff so you can work it back and forth (like dental floss) so it doesnt mar the paint and you dont go after the area with a screwdriver again possibily damaging the paint. The adhesive thats left behind can be removed with GooGone which is found everywhere (ACE, Home Depot and even some grocery stores) Good luck. GC
