I've got 1989 Corvette. nave any of you guys had your power side mirrors move own there own? I adjust them every day and every morning they move outward. What would cause this? ..... Cuejack

I have to adjust my driver's side mirror everyday because when I close the door, the age-weakened mechanism allows the mirror head to turn a bit with the momentum after the door's movement stops abruptly at the door latch. Try experimenting to see if that's your problem as well.

If both mirrors are moving, your power mirror switch may be making contact. You could try disconnecting the battery just to see if the mirrors still creep, or it could be like Bunky above said

Default Sice Mirror

Thanks guys for the reply, but the mirror gear is strong so its not moving due to vibration and only the driver side is moving back so I don't think its the power switch. It seems to only happen after the after the car has set for a few hours. Do you guys think there's a memory setting for the mirrors? I had a C3 for about 27 years and this one for about 5 yrs and I do hear a " bing bing bing' noise beeping from time to time but I didn't see a memory option in the manual. .... your thoughts???? Thanks ........ Cuejack

I know you said the mirror gearing is strong, but since only the driver's side is changing, it makes me suspect the impact of the door closing is causing it to move. My 84 has 138k and a lot of door slams over that 28 year period. Have you tried a few door slams to see if that impact changes it?

I've had it happen once or twice, but I thought my car cover caught on the mirror. Or my fat **** bumped it while cleaning the car.

It seems to only happen over night, after the car has been sitting for hours. That's why i wondered if there was some memory setting that was causing it. It never happens when i close the door.

Check the internals of the mirror to make sure the screws are tight. My motor mounting bracket screws were loose. Very well known problem.
