89 ragtop rear pin holes
My 89 convertible top is scratching the area around where my rear pins pop in, does anybody esle have this problem. I don't know if the receiver for the pin was once chrome and painted over?

pin holes
My pin receivers are black plastic of the same material as thin body side molding. About 1x3". Previous owner dropped top and missed that rectangle completely leaving a 1/8" dimple next to it. Other problem is marring along entire outline of where top meets rear deck. Buffed out most of it last week.

My 92 had chrome plates for the rear pins. If the various hinges on the top frame are not worn, the pins should align with the latches when the rear of the top is dropped down to them.
The C4's didn't have any protection for the paint on the decklid, but the various accessory catalogs have clear static-cling vinyl strips that are shaped to the outline of the top. They aren't expensive and worth it if you want to stop the paint from being scraped. But make sure you remove them once the top is down. They can disappear....
