1994 Copper Confusion!

That is great info you gathered.
I was considering 1 of 3, 6-speed Copper Metallic verts that was for sale locally. I had done quite a bit of ground work on the color before setting up an appointment to view the car. I think post #25 & #28 in this thread are talking about the Arizona car you mentioned?

Here is a scan from a 1999 issue of Corvette Fever where they have input on the color from Gordon Killebrew. It doesn't list production numbers, but lists why the color was discontinued from a reputable source.
Stashed somewhere in my office is a binder of info on ’94 Coppers from when I was looking at them. I recall sources stating that Copper production lasted 3 days, but if there is info to refute it, that would be good to know!

That may be why it could have been 3-4 weeks. From the information I have from the time, it states 3 days of production, but does not specify if they were consecutive days. Three days spread out is perfectly plausible.

Mine is 00442.
Just drove it on the 2014 20th Anniversary Caravan. Seems from what little I've learned, many of these cars ended up out west in Arizona. Not sure if there is an underlying reason, just coincidence, or just a perception based on limited information.

94 Copper
Guys, we all like to guess about things and here is my guess:
Vin 152 is only a couple of hundred from VIN 442 and that could be part of the first run or could have been the first attempt and when it didn't match they stopped.
The 94 Copper that I saw had the VIN of 451 and a build date of August 94.
Then we have the second batch of VIN's in the 1300 range and then the third batch in the 2000 range.
For what it's worth, the conversations that I overheard was that the plant made three attempts to paint the Copper Color and then stopped.
They even tried three different paint manufacturers without success.
I would agree that maybe we have shown that the Copper Color application was tried three times in normal production with the first in August 94.
The last batch was in September 94 and we probably wont find many Copper Color VIN's above 2034.
Just my opinion for what's its worth and I really enjoyed this topic and thanks to everyone who helped out.

Couple of pics I took at a GM Tech Center Corvette event a few years ago. No Idea what serial number it is. I just like the look:

My car is automatic, with Tan Interior and originally came with the White Vinyl Soft top as shown. It has the FX3 suspension and originally came with the tire sensors - but I don't believe they are still with the car. I have the original Sawblades like brand new in boxes.
Here's a better close-up.

Well, my memory is not as bad as I thought: 0152 does indeed have the gray interior! (I'm glad you posted - I cannot for the life of me find the printout I had about the gray interior Copper car) However, I had no idea that it was with a white convertible top. Now we have two white topped 1994 Copper convertibles. Fantastic combo! If and when convenient, post a photo!
