I’ve searched this site and the internet and can find two build dates: August 8, 1993 and September 10, 1993 (VIN 02020). I’m not even sure those are correct dates.

But there’s gotta be more than three build days for those 116 cars, right? Thoughts? Anyone with a 1994 Copper know their build date? VIN higher than 02020?
Mine isn't at the house to check the vin but I have heard they were all built the first couple weeks of production?

Default 1994 Copper Metallic

At the NCRS National Convention in Kansas City this summer there was a 1994 Copper Metallic Coupe. The last part of the VIN was 00451.

I would guess this would be first to third day of production depending on the number of pilot and preproduction units.

It was being presented for Cross Flags Judging.

I participated in the Judging and have some photos if anyone is interested.

I saw one once at a show and let me tell you is was as far as color the best C4 I have ever seen, the white interior really set it off.

I would think that those copper painted cars would be spread out over a number of weeks if not months. IIRC, the Assembly Plant would paint cars in "batches" of a single color so they didn't have to deal with frequent color changes. But I would also expect that if there was just one car ordered with copper paint, it would go down the paint line somewhere between the batches of the more common or popular colors.

The bare bodies were painted with the components together and then separated so internal parts could be installed. Things like doors, front fender gills, even the hood had pieces installed before the final body assembly.

There were problems with getting the copper color to match and that was the primary reason for dropping the color. That was too bad as it is a very striking color to see in person.

according to vettefacts.com:

Default 94 Copper

You are correct about the wheels. I wanted to see if anyone pick it up.

The owner just had new tires put on before judging and did not look at the wheel presentation. It was pointed out to him during judging that the wheels were put back on incorrectly. Other than a service replacement battery (No repros available) the Corvette was just like the day it came off the factory line. Really an impressive color.
Don't hold me to this, but a number of conversations were going on around this 1994 Copper Corvette and one of the comments was that three different paint manufacturers failed to get the paint scheme correct and therefore the color was dropped.

Again, it is a beautiful and stunning color.

Funny, there’s a thread in the ZR-1 section about the one and only Copper Metallic Z going on.

Below is a link from the CAC from a while back, has some interesting info on the ’94 coppers. Your buddy was correct, copper was only produced for 3 days at Bowling Green.

I think white interior wasn't offered in 94,93 was the last year.Years ago I was talking to a guy that had a Copper Coupe and he didnt have a clue as to how rare the car was,but he did seem a little puzzled when I asked him if he had ever seen another one.
