Running with ALDL grounded?

Running with ALDL grounded?
Hi, so the other day I was checking codes, by shorting pin A and G on the ALDL, on my 91 L98 and forgot to remove the paperclip. I had unhooked the battery after checking codes too, reconnected the battery with the paperclip still in the ALDL, then started my engine Still with the paperclip in the ALDL, shortly after I noticed my dash was in diagnostic mode so I shut the engine off and removed the paperclip. So now the question, I've read a bunch of threads not to do what I did because it would ruin my ECM/PCM but after I removed the paperclip I drove my car a couple miles, turned it off and back on and so far I don't have any issues, did I mess anything up? Are there any potential issues that will pop up later due to this mistake? Thanks

You didn't screw it up, for further info on some codes the motor needs to be running though I don't off hand know which ones. I have forgotten about the clip being in and drove it for days.

You know now that you mention it, there are a few codes the FSM says to Run the engine and such, but reading so many threads that the ECM/PCM could get fried, I was a bit worried

I've heard that it Doesn't hurt them but it takes a while for the computer to relearn and remember what is the "normal range" of operation and reset everything into the memory. It takes a few driving cycles of acceleration coasting down and stop & go driving at different rpm and speeds to get everything re-remembered (if that is a real word).
