Put your jack directly below the mirror on the pinch rail, that is slightly farther back than the
marked locations. It will lift the car level. Put the stands under it and repeat on the other
side. That jack attachment isn't a bad thing, but its not needed and it may not even fit
under the car.

Right! I've been lifting my 84 since new that way. It sits on jackstands between weekly races. The car has been jacked up over a thousand times that way over the past 31 years. It's now on stands placed that way getting a freshened motor in this weekend. By the way, I've lifted my C5Z, C6Z and now my C7Z this same way.
