Cluster still not working
Hello everybody
I own a 1989 6 spd Corvette
Squirrels ate the wires going to my under hood lights. The wires contacted an shorted out my interior lights. But the instrument cluster worked. I replaced the 15 amp Clk/Clstr fuse and the cluster went dark.
My mechanic has no clue.
Right now the speedometer lights up and so does the lights that border the temperature and oil pressure read outs. The tachometer is on but only visible when I take a picture.
The heat/air conditioner indicator is flashing. It turns on when I turn on the car. The the temperature light flashes. It reads 75 stays on for a minute or so and then goes off. It makes me think that the car is in its test mode. You know the 2 seconds everything comes on when you start the car.
The speedometer is sometimes fully illuminated but it only reads 888.
I am going to use the schematic that Bryan from Batee sent me to see which pins are operating.
Last time pin D16 was and C16 was not. I thought that they both came from the same location. Is there a relay between the cluster and the fuse panel.
Could this be the ECM?
Thank you all. I really want to get this done. appreciate your help.
