Default Found C4 Targa Brace for the Shakes

I found through CF Member "TorchTarga94" a custom builder of Targa Top X Braces. Check out http://www.tommysspeedshop.com/ There's a picture at the bottom of the web page of the custom brace.

The Braces per owner/builder Tom Gasper are $475 w/Shipping to lower 48.

If you are looking to get rid of the shakes & shimmy with the top off your C4 give Tom a call @ 216-316 9812

I have no connection with this company. I'm just a happy customer that I found a supplier of them.

Soon I will be able to drive @ 32mph without shaking like crazy.

I saw his personal car with the brace installed at Summit Racing's Piston and Motor show earlier this year. The brace looks pretty good in person as to fit and finish. He was a decent person to talk to. He said he is an engineer by trade.

Thanks! I called them and placed an order for my 1989. Been looking for a targa brace for a while now.

Real nice 👍 , but I think I'm just going to install a roll cage instead. That way I can still use my targa top. But I'm going for a different look and not concerned about that.

Drive your car with the top out and report back what you think.

http://www.superchevy.com/how-to/020...t-bar-install/

They also make a brace that mounts under the car and an X-brace like was added on the convertibles.

The coupe is by no means unstable or unsafe without it, everyone's perception of how it feels with the top out is different but if you do a search on the subject it is very common.

My 1995 with 17k on the clock was not unsafe to drive without a top on. The car would feel a little loose at approximately 32mph. Other than that it was fine. But, being as **** as I am I didn't like the loose feel at that speed. I purchased and installed a targa top brace and the car handles like a dream. IMO better than with the factory top/s on.

Someone mentioned a roll cage. I hope you don't intend to use a roll cage on the street. That's deadly.

Ok - you could wear your helmet when you go to WaWa for coffee.

Roger found it made no difference with the roof in place or the roof off.
