I think my son qualifies as the youngest owner at 14. My best friend just gave him his 1992 C4 for my son's 8th grade graduation present. My son turns 15 in August and will get his permit in February - until then he rides shotgun in it. I've let him drive it on private property and he does just fine. All I can say is he's a very lucky boy!

18. I always thought that the C5 was the old-timer corvette. Looks like I was wrong. I got mine by chance, and even though it is currently torn apart in my backyard (rodents got to everything), I love it for its extravagance. It is visually, and physically loud. It oozes character through every dried-up door seal and ill-fitted interior panel, just like the mouse urine oozing from under the carpet as I tear it apart. Damn, it's a challenge, and quite expensive, but worth every penny.

My friend originally was going to sell it to him for $2,000, and I told my son I would match whatever money my son raised - he actually came up with $1,500. My friend is a very generous person, he gave my son his first mini bike when he was seven and a Yamaha TT90R dirt bike when he turned nine.

And it's nice to see there are younger people that love Corvettes too. Where I live, the younger crowd are into BMW's and feel American cars are not cool.
