Thanks for the link, Rick.

I'm getting hungry for some ZR-1 tail.

We did the NCM in March last year. Track time was the highlight for sure, and I would go back just for that. But Kentucky is a scary place for an old hippie. My hair got looks at the McDonald's that took me back to the 70's. I though we were in for a scene from Rambo. Grab your McMuffin and head for the door, honey. I'm about to get a Mitt Romney.

On the way home, we were followed for about three miles by KHP. The only car in sight. I don't think he was admiring the paint. You'd think a 'vette would get some respect so close to her birthplace.

NCM was once and done for me.

Is this open to all years or just C4?
Thanks Dave

There were other generations present last year. This all started with the ZR-1 folks, so it's mostly C4. Mine's a base '96 and they let me ride along.

The run ends at the NCM just in time for the annual C4 gathering.

Kentucky has to get their money back for all those great hyways they just built twix Tenn and Indiana. The good ole boys down that way like performace cars just like everywhere else. I too hate when the HP follows me. Its hard enough smoking, eating, reading , texing, and talking on the phone, watching a movie on the lap top, and getting a BJ from some gal., all at the same time without worrying about the cops behind you, that's distracting. Am retired big truck driver and have seen all that and more.

Damn George, hate to hear that. You'd think they'd all be used to the hippy looking mountain men that moonshine in the hills there. I have a hat you can borrow.

Hey, Rick! Glad your planning to join that group again!

For those that would like to join the fun C-LINK.

Speaking of tail..."Somebody" was on mine all the way through the "Dragon"!!

Two days getting to Gatlinburg, Then 3 days of spirited Corvette nirvana mixed with gatherings after for drinks and dinner and sharing experiences of the day - ending at the Holiday Plaza Inn in BG in time for the C4 gathering. Then more Vette mania on the track!

You really ought to think about joining in...NOW.

LOL. Yea I started hearing a lot of banjo music all of a sudden.

We're still looking at Gatlinburg for some fun in the hills of Tennessee. I just won't cross back over into Mitch McConnell's turf.

When I was a kid we took a trip to Mammoth Caves. On the way home, my mom's new '71 Dodge Charger dropped a valve. Kentucky = Bad JuJu.

Awww. Nothing wrong with Mopar. Used to enjoy watching Buddy Baker track that Charger around the Charlotte 600 back in the day. First time I saw a wing on a car, besides Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.

It may have been a bit early in the post-break-in period. And I may have been slightly egging her on. Ahem. "Punch it! Let's see what it'll do! C'mon, Mom".

Dad had to drive up from Nashville to rescue us. He was not even amused by the memory of that day for several years.

All gens welcome, if it works out I won't be in a C4 come May. Tuesday we'll be in Gatlinburg, only spending Sunday night in Blowing Rock.

Well George I did put an offer on a 2000 6sp but guy didn't take it. I'm looking to move up a gen or two if I find the right car at the right price. So far those two haven't come together. No hurry anyway.

I've done 3 Mountain Runs (2,3,4), and there's been C4s thru C7s! There has been base cars, Zs, and GS's. It is essentially a Corvette gathering, but it's a free country (would rather you not drive a Torus, or the like tho..). Just a growing bunch of Corvette people, having fun doing what these cars were meant to do!

Gotcha. Thought you had one on the hook.

Good luck with the search.
