Dyna Mod Ignition Module
FYI
I got my new Dyna Mod 7 pin ignition module today. I bought it from Performance Distributors, Inc. I paid $49.95 from them rather than $79.99 that Ecklers and Mid America both wanted!

Re: Dyna Mod Ignition Module (Ezgoin721)
I bought it in hopes of finally eliminating a problem I have had since the rotor came loose and broke it's way out of the dist. cap. Ever since then almost every time I drive the car it runs great until all the sudden it stumbles, throws the check engine light, and runs like crap until I shut it off for a minute and then re-start it. The first time it did this it threw a code 42, but since then the ECM does not retain the code. Even with a scan tool hooked up when it happens, no code shows up. The code 42 is an indication of some sort of short in the ignition system, and I've done just about everything except replace the module. The theory is that when the rotor came off inside the cap it must have damaged the module or one of the connectors that intermitently shorts. Anyway, we'll find out this weekend after I install it!

I didn't get a chance to install it today, but tomorrow (Sunday) for sure! It isn't a big deal to install and should only take an hour or so. All you have to do is pull the dist. cap and rotor, remove a couple screws, unplug the old module and plug in the new one. Of course it always takes a little longer than it should, especially with the tight access from the SuperRam plenum. I don't really anticipate any noticable performance gains, just hope it stops that irritating problem.
