I remember reading last summer on this forum, that these filters were no longer available from GM and that they had become scarce and hard to get.

While picking up a few parts I had ordered at my GM delear, I happened to pickup up a couple standard Duraguard PF52 filters for my son's '92 vette. During casual conversation, I mentioned that I wish I could get the better UPF52 filter rather than the normal blue one... my parts guy said, "hey, no problem - speical order but I can get them... how many you want?" So I ordered a case of six (6).

Now I get a call this past Friday to come get them - sure enough, he had a case ready for me - they are not cheap (retail was $10.20 each) but these are suppose to be terrific syntectic element filters. These UltraGuard Gold filters are black - come with a teflon coated gasket and are rated to trap 98% of 8-10 micron particles on a single pass vs 40% for the Duraguard filters.

For some reason, these high-performance filters do not show up on the ACDelco website and only the standard Duraguard filters are shown: http://www.acdelco.com/html/pi_filt_oil.htm

Just wanted to let folks know they're still available if U want 'em! :thumbs:

That's the filter for the LT-1. It's different for our LT-5's. Can't remember the number but the filter is black and still available as far as I know. If you can't find it, shoot me an email and I'll go down to the garage and check my spares. I keep both filters in stock so I can check the numbers and p/n.

Hope the Ultraguards are indeed back in supply ... they WERE unavailable about a year ago and I bought a couple of cases then.

Nope - missed that info - went to the Product summary page for oil filters and nothing was listed. Curious about the pricing - dealership list was $10.20 ea. and I payed $7.28 ea.

Hi Steve, I just ordered a case from my son's dealership. I think they run around $7.50 each, but had to buy the case. Still on for Orlando :yesnod:
