Default pressing water pump out???

I am installing an electric water pump and need to konw the direction to press it out. I broke my housing last night pressing from the rear to front. I am guessing you punch the shaft out of the impeller? It appears that way. Like it comes out from the radiator side to the engine side. Any experience with this? Anyone have a freebie water pump housing?

You need to press the shaft through the impeller. That would be from the front of the water pump, push the shaft through the rear. I didn't have a press so I used a dremel tool with a cut-off disk and cut the part of the impeller that is pressed over the shaft, on two sides. I used a 3lb hammer and drift and drove it out.
Good Luck,

If you don't have a press you can do it with a really large hammer and a punch. Use the punch to hit the shaft and drive it out, front to rear.
