Cad files for C4's
Anyone have CAD files they can share?
Body, engine, suspension anything is helpful.
I'm working on some drawings, I'm running SolidWorks, so anything I can import would be great.

I went ahead and grabbed the TPI and carbed models above.
The trouble is they're DXF formatted ( lines and splines ), so when imported into SolidWorks most of the model didn't translate I can only display the top view in the DXF viewer.
So, I dug through my stack of old books and "How to HotRod Small Block Chevys" has all the basic engine dimensions and port configurations. None of the new stuff though.
The bolts for the intake and exhaust are really spaced weird!
intake spacing
2.32
8.61 6.29
10.93 2.32
16.52 5.59
18.84 2.32
exhaust spacing
2.22
6.75 4.53
10.69 3.94
15.22 4.53
17.44 2.22
I realize they had to line up the exhaust crossover, but why 2.22 and not 2.25???

Hey
have you tried to import the dxf into CAD or something simple and export out into 3ds, iges, or something that solid works may work with? I often import items in Rhino3D and then export them out.

I have my wilwood 13" C5 front brake kit and adapter bracket in solidworks.
Also have some pics of the c4 chassis sketched out front and side, they came out of one of the C4 books.
Don't forget to slot all the holes and give a +.500" tolerance for everything.
What are you working on?

all depends on what I can get the #'s for.
Have you thought about marketing those adapters?
I could get that done.

I downloaded Rhino3D's free trial version ( you can save it 25 times ), and was able to view and export most of it to SolidWorks ( except the engine block ).
Nice package Rhino3D it draws real fast
