Default " camber brace install "

hi there guys,
i just installed a straight bar camber brace on my 1991 vette!

i have a straight bar brace as i dont have air cond!
any way can any one please tell me if they had to move there power steering resovoir further out of the way please?

my resovoir is located on the left hand side of the car in front near the alternator!
is this where all the power steering resovoirs are placed as my vette is right hand drive thats all and im not familliar if thats where it should be or not?

any how after installing the brace , i have noticed that when i tried to fit back my resovoir that it wont fit there any more due the camber brace cross brace bar now!!
is this normal please?

did you have to move your resovoir across more?

or may be when i fitted it i should have removed the power steering resovoir before i installed the brace?

im thinking that i might have to look around at the motor wreckers for a smaller /more up rite type of power steeering resovoir so it will fit ?

any ideas/help please guys!
cheers
happy easter

OOOPS, I missed the part about the right hand steer. Sorry, I can't help a bit except that my a/c dryer is on that side and I did have to raise it up just a tiny bit. Don't know about yours.

Here is part of the install instructions for the Camber Brace for my 91. Since the PS reservior is on the left (like stock LH drive) it should be the same. There is a small recessed area in the backside of the bar to accomidate the top front of the reservior.

"Remove the upper reservoir bolt and rotate it rearward until it contacts the frame support. Make sure the lower bolt is tight and leave the top bolt out. The Brace will hold the reservoir in place, once installed".

I can email you the instruction sheet if you like.

Yours is probably much different, but on my 85, it was in the way of the reservoir too, only by maybe 1/2" or so.

The reservoir bracket attaches to the radiator shroud.

I bend the front arm of the res bracket up, and reattached it, this tilted the reservoir forward away from the camberbrace.

Youll be right Glen, just make a new bracket for the power steering resevior. If your car was converted to right hand drive properly, none of that should have been changed at all. You can probably put the resevior anywhere along there where it wont be in the way.

Yep, had the same problem on my 86. I just finessed it around until it cleared the brace.

For my car, it wasn't difficult to do. All I did was look to see in which direction it had to be moved and by how much.

Not for a stock setup your correct, but I just pulled my mono spring off and went to QA1 coilovers and I would like to stiffen up the shock tower area.

I plan on putting a spacer between the back of my tower and the A-arm mount then adding the Camber Brace, should be super duper stiff then.

Will it help anything? I haven't seen any data that it does. Let us know!

I made one for my 79 and it made a world of difference. With the brace across the front on a C4 it would seem that one isn't needed.
Another good way to stiffen the front is install solid engine mounts. this really helped my C3 too. Just a thought.

Why in the world would you want it super duper stiff? The C4 has a significant amount of understeer inherent in the suspension set up. Stiffening up the front will make it worse.

If you read my posts above, they state that I have changed to Coilover suspension, I do nolonger have a MONO SPRING.

Without the spring, the shock tower suports each corner of the car's weight, so I dont want deflection on the shock tower.

I'm just trying to save you some money. I also have coil overs...no camber brace. I road race the car exclusively, and handling is superb without the brace. Good enough to take first at Mid-Ohio last month, anyway.
