The book specifies Dexron #2 for the C4 R 700-4 tranny . I have a large amount of Dexron #3 . What is the problem with using it in the R700-4,Other than my 91 FSM not listing it ? Tranny oils have gone thru a lot of improvements in this time , is the #3 one of them ?
I see the change Ford did in Mercon #3 ,can't use # 5 , now you can .

III is better than II. It supercedes it. Use it with confidence
