I was wanting to know if you can just use the j55 calipers and brackets or Grand Sport calipers on a 87 front suspension in order to be able to use 13" rotors?

What all is involved in the upgrade or can it even be done?

Yes but you need a caliper adapter bracket and need to run 17" wheels

You can also use C5 calipers and rotors but, as mentioned, you have to use the ZR-1 style 5-spoke wheels. Brackets are available here in WA.
