The EGR solenoid is mounted on the thermostat housing in the '86 and later cars so the bracket is made for that. If the '85 mounting position is different then it may not fit without doing some modification.

I did a little research in my Corvette parts book CD:
1985: 1997111 AC Delco 214-331
1986: 1997195 AC Delco 214-340
That should give you enough info to do a Google search and figure out what the differences are.

Thanks Cliff, I ordered and received one from Zip Corvette. It looks like the original but the mounting bracket might need to be tweaked. That would be consistsnt to what you had said about the differences. It says on the box fits '85 to 91. It will be installed before Monday when I drive it to Colorado Springs from St.Paul MN. First road trip in my first Corvette. I will keep you posted. Thanks again, Jay
