Default If you think the C-Beam is hard to install

Try installing the transmission dipstick tube after the transmission is in place. That tube made the c-beam seem like a real simple job.

Been there, done that. Makes you really kick yourself for not popping the thing in when the tranny is being positioned. Good luck.

I got it, but I had to work it for quite awhile. lowering the rear and raising it several times etc. To be honest, putting this car back together is really taking alot longer then I thought it would. The motor dropped right in, but getting all the wiring back etc. is taking alot of time.

They always come apart easier that they go together. I love it when I spend an Hr looking for a bolt I misplaced.

It's even worse if you never find it.

But after four tranny R&R's in as many months, it's really quite simple.

Last night a buddy came over to help me pull my trans. We got all the bolts out but the top and top left in a about 30 minutes. I already had the C-beam,starter and stuff off. It took us one hr to get the left bolt off and another 30 minutes to realize my wiring harness has to come out before we can get to the top bolt.
Needless to say we called it a night.

DO NOT FORGET TO PULL THE DISTRIBUTOR AND THE WIPER MOTOR COVER!

Not only will it cost you money for repairs,
the acces to wiring and such is GREATLY appreciated

Or if you end up with an extra one, and don't know where it should have gone.

Especially if you're worried it fell into the head. I had my fingers crossed the first time I started my engine.

I found the top bolts are MUCH easier to get to if you drop the trans down and then go over the top of the trans with a long extension (or two).
