Default Total rebuild questions...

I rebuilt the l98 with flat top pistons, little larger cam, long tube headers, dual exaust eliminating the cat. I live in Nebraska, not worried about emissions. I eliminated the air pump and all smog control. I added a 4 wire o2 sensor at the collecter (drivers side). Vacum I'm unsure how to route, I routed it as close to stock as I could. It's running rich at start up and idling down to stalling out at closed loop or operating temp. Do I have to have a new chip added or are there other things I can do or check?

You need to have your PCM tuned for the new mods. I would not drive it until you get it done.

How do you get a quality tune? I live in Omaha, NE. I've heard horror stories about getting 1 through the mail. Can I buy software to do it myself? Or? Any Idea what a reasonable price would be? I've never gone this route before.

When I did mine I bought a motes cable to connect to my PC and datalog. I sent these datatlogs to a guy who then tuned it for me until it was right. It took a few tries.

Moates.net has it all if you want to do this yourself.

How much $ and how much time are we talking? Is there some way to take it to someone and have them do it real time?

yes there is a guy that lives a few miles from me he charged me $250 the last time he tuned my car. I would look locally first.
