Bad fuel injector - Need Replacement Suggestions?
I have recently found one of my injectors is bad and the others may not be far from it. Thus, I figured I should replace the whole set. What Brand is suggested? Should I stay close to or at stock injectors? Anything else to do while tearing it apart? I was thinking of an adjustable fuel pressure regulator.
The vette is an 89 coupe, manual, stock except for cat back and k&n Filter, however I do autocross and track day it.
Recent findings on vette:
Fuel injector ohms reading:
(All the readings are from front to back)
Driver side: 13.7, 16.0, 16.1, 13.2.
Passenger side: 16.4, 13.6, 13.8, 3.8
Bad injector @ 3.8 !
[U][B]Fuel pressure gauge readings:
Key on & not started: 43lbs
Run at idle: 38-39lbs
Run at idle & pull vacuum line off fuel pressure regulator: 46lbs
Running & rpm held steady at 2,000 & then 3,000rpm: 38lbs
Running & rev engine: jumps up 8lbs or so.
Wide open throttle: not tested yet.
Leak down from key on (prior to starting):
1st test:
0 min - 43lbs
3 min - 38.5lbs
5 min - 37lbs
8 min - 36lbs

The Fuel Injector Connection has a great reputation here on the Forum. Great prices and excellent service.
This would be a good time to replace the old O rings in your fuel rail too.

Cornhusker, Everyone is right. fuelinjectorconnection.com are the folks to deal with. You can get the complete kit that includes O-rings and fuel pressure reg. gaskets. The Bosh injectors are easier to install than stock. No c-clips.
What else to replace. EGR and all the vacuum hoses that run under the plenum.

I bought my injectors from FIC a couple of years ago and they came with the O-rings. I see on their site that they are now listing the O-rings separately, so it looks like you have to specifically order them, as they don't seem to be included any more.

One more for FIC.
I bought a set and found one injector that was stuck open. Even though it was unclear whether I may have gotten some dirt into it during the swap and caused the problem, FIC replaced it no questions asked.
Great company to work with.

I went with the 22# FIC Bosch III injectors. And it ran super lean when datalogging. Found some recommending the 24# instead. And put in the 24# FIC Bosch III injectors and the BLM's were right in spec according to the FSM.
