Default WOT and TCC

Does anyone have experience with applying the TCC at WOT (4L60E trans)? Below is what I am thinking of doing. Would there be any problems?
2nd gear 4000rpm apply TCC
2->3 gear shift at 5100rpm
release TCC
3rd gear 4000rpm apply TCC
3->4 gear shift at 5100rpm
release TCC
4th gear 4000rpm apply TCC
. don't plan on reaching this point - 171mph!

You can apply the TC clutch at WOT but you may run into durability issues with the TC clutch since they were not designed from GM to be used at WOT. It may last a long time or it may fail in short order. If you buy an aftermarket torque convertor that is designed for WOT TC engagement it will have 3 to 5 clutches vs the 1 from the factory.

Thanks! Just the info I was needing. Probably will not do this until/if I rebuild the trans.

Ask 383vett about this. I understand that he does it all the time when he's racing.

Thanks, but IIRC he just blew his trans and he has it built as strong as possible for his high numerical rear end (5.36?) and the HP of his engine (considerably more than mine). I think it is like bjankuski said earlier, GM did not make the factory TCC strong enough to take that punishment long. 4000rpm is the peak torque of the LT1 (330), so the TCC probably would not take being engaged at that point for long. Probably why GM did not do it themselves. I am willing to wait until I have a stronger or different trans. I hate break downs!
