Default Gaskets, gaskets, gaskets

So I'm wanting to do a full top end kit for the gaskets. I was going to just do it piece by piece but figured why not? Now the question is I seem to have issues finding part numbers for an lt4 gasket set. Also I've heard talk of an off road intake manifold gasket, what is the part number for this and is it worth it? Also any info on this subject as far as what's better for what and tips would be appreciated.

intake and valve covers? check Summit racing or rockauto.

no need to touch the head gaskets if under 150k miles.

I'm at 118 or so and I drive about 100 miles a day now until July, no offense but that doesn't help with my p/n request. All I seem to be able to find is lt1 not lt4.

Now you got me wondering too. I'm in the middle of a cam swap on my LT4 and had bought the Felpro gaskets from Autozone. Just checked the box and it states it's for vin code P. Looks like I'm going to be looking too, hopefully someone can tell us where to find them.

Looks like its a Felpro MS96386, that's for the intake manifold set. I think all the other gaskets would be common with the LT1.

According to Advance Auto Parts, the top end gasket set is HS 9966 PT-2

http://shop.advanceautoparts.com/p/f...t-2/19783597-p

I'm searching that part number and can't find anywhere else that states it's specifically for the LT4 so I'm not 100% positive.

Looks like Felpro has HS 9966 PT and HS 9966 PT-2 sets. Maybe the first one is LT1 and the -2 is LT4? Still not completely sure.

Is that this "off road" gasket I've heard about?

I've not heard of "off-road" gaskets so I'm really not sure.

Default Gaskets

I just installed new intake and valve cover gaskets on my LT4. I used Fel-Pro #MS 96386 which is the complete kit for an LT4 including Permitix RTV and EGR gaskets and #VS 50443 R for the valve cover gaskets. Hope this helps.

I did a search for LT4 offroad gasket and came up with this thread that explains it.

I just got my Felpro MS96386 gasket set and did a trial fit, not impressed at all, looks like I'm going to be ordering the 777 gaskets. The ports match up fairly well with the intake manifold but they're way off on the heads. There's very little gasket material on the upper edge of the port, and half of what is there is covering the port itself. There's not much material there on the top to provide a seal between the head and intake. In the pics you can see the marks where the original gasket had much more material above the port for sealing.
