Default Keyless entry Fob Porblem 93 convertable

My original fobs case broke. Bought one off of Ebay new. It was same as my second fob that didn't work. I had assumed my second fob was broken. New one would not program to car., original works fine.
Compared fobs. case on non working fobs has two screws securing case original has no screws, snaps closed. "Interior parts completely different."
Any body what happen with the fobs from 92 to 93 and beyond? JDR

Two slightly different case designs but no other difference. If you can't program the new fob to the car post details about what you did and what happened and someone will probably be able to help you.
Of course, you checked the battery in the new fob, right?

There were no fobs in 92.

Not sure my fobs for my 92 just snap together. Never opened them up because they both work fine

If it's a 92 it is an afterrmarket system.

could be but it says GM on the fobs and the window sticker says power door locks. Not arguing with you as this is the first corvette I have owned.

Sounds like it is probably the GM universal unit you could buy from the dealer. How many buttons does it have? (Verts had one).

Power door locks were standard equipment by '92, but that didn't mean it had keyless entry.

PKE (Passive Keyless Entry) debuted for the 1993 model year.

I think Mark is right, it sounds like the dealer installed GM system.
