Default Fuel Injector Replacement

A few weeks ago I replaced the Fuel Injectors on my 96 CE LT1. I used Bosch 3 injectors from FIC. I didn't do anything to reset the computer after replacing them because they were 24lb injectors just like the originals. Is there a procedure I should have done to reset the programming?

Just pull the power off the battery and turn the headlights on to drain power. Reconnect battery start then let idle for 15 minutes.

Took care of it this morning. The headlights wouldn't work at all after disconnecting the battery, but it had been sitting unused all night so that's probably why. It seems to have worked as the idle is now a little lower and stable.

Good job the headlights were not going to work it was just to drain any stored power. the computer will now take care of the rest as you drive it.

You don't need to turn on the headlights when you do this kind of reset.

Personally, I recommend disconnecting the ECM power connector for about 1 second (much easier and doesn't require any tools):

You need to drive the car to reset the BLMs (or LTFTs (Long Term Fuel Trims) in later cars). Idling isn't enough.
