Default Which coolant sensor is the analog gauge? (92 LT1)

Is the sensor in the head, or the senor in water pump the temp. sensor for the analog gauge?

The sensor in the head controls the analog gauge.

Of those two sensors I think the one under the intake is still going to the ECM.

Do you have one in the block between #6 & #8 plugs? This one used to go to the digital gauges. Since you have an analog readout it looks like the sensor in the water pump is it.

There is no coolant temp sensor under or on the intake of a LT1. The LT1 has a dry intake, no coolant flow.

I'll say it again, the temp sensor in the head controls the analog temp gauge.

I think he meant the two-wire one in the water pump, and the water pump is under the intake, so...

:D

On my 89 the coollant temp sensor for gage is on passenger side of block. I thought it was the know sensor but I unplugged it one-day to see how car ran without knock sensor and the gauge dropped to low. Drove for about 50 miles and still no temp reading . So when i stopped for gas I plugged it back in burned the shot out of my hands and what do you know my water temp was 180deg.
