If you get something worked out for a diffuser, I'd be interested in having one made... just saying.

Diffuser project is underway Hope to report back soon on that...

Well after a few years of mods and getting the car where I wanted Im happy to finally be driving it and enjoying it for the most part while planning mods when I can fit them in. Still a long way to go and lots of mods/ideas still being planned and brainstormed.

So last weekend was the annual Race the runway event in Smith Falls Ontario. I was excited as can be but a tiny bit worried about how the car would fare given I do have it set really low and it was a quite a distance away 450-500km to get there. Ive always wanted to setup the Z at the extreme limit of what is streetable and so far Im proud to say shes doing just great. The car was a hit getting quite a few cell phone snaps on the freeway on the way there and back and lots of thumbs ups and people speeding up beside to get second glances 0. Had a lot of people come up and talk to me and even met some people there who followed me on instagram and had no idea I was Canadian and would be there. Gotta love instagram it truly makes the world a smaller place ! There were 2 other c4s there surprisingly, one was a burgundy stock zr-1 which was even more surprising ! and the other a modified 89 with a 383.

On to the pics I guess ! Have quite a few more but I can add them later on.

Shot from ViP balcony to one side of the event. Over 5-600 cars there. 300 competing I believe.

Me and the 89 cooling off

Me and the other 90 zr1

me and svtbait on instagram whos been following me and didn't expect to run into each other here 0

Few videos from my runs

little burnout before my last run

flyby cell phone footage and some return run

and of course the in car gopro footage ! turn it up !!

The car ran very well. Drove in straight off the highway and were a bit late and they suck me in heat 2 and went for the first pass and got a 12.1 and a trap speed at the .4 mile (not 1/4 mile - was a half mile .5 event but they shortened it to .4 to give extra room for braking) of 218 km/hr.

Second pass was my best.. great launch and knew id be faster but it never registered my e.t My trap speed was 221 km/hr though. faster than the stock and minor bolt on ZL1s, Ferrari f430s, some vipers and porsches among others. There was one hellcat running 221 km/hr as well but a few were 224-226 and modified in the 230s. A lot of people came over asked my mods and were like 00 lol.

Hopefuly next year I can get my 93 up and running which should run much faster (370ci solid roller) or possibly take the Z back again with maybe a few more mods

Mike, what are the specs on your steering wheel? Just installed a 330mm Sparco on mine feels kind of small.

Also, cool to see your car and other C4s there making a good name for other C4s. I feel like they are starting to become a little more appreciated. Your car is looking better than ever and is a true benchmark for a lot of us.

Very nice! Love that ZR-1.
Found the results of the event here for those that want to see the speeds.
Couple of SRT Charger Hellcats in the 230s km/hr range.

Thanks very much ! It was one of my goals to show how great c4s can be an why ive wanted to make this thread and post everything on instagram and youtube. I know quite a few people who have purchased based on my IG pics ! A lot of potential in the c4

My steering wheel Im pretty sure is 350mm. It took a bit of getting used to for sure. I planned to do the short ratio steering rack (most likely will) but held off because the wheel really helpe with the Cadillac feel of the stock rack.

thx ! There were aot of cars im sure that could have used a bit of drivermod Was a great no pressure environment and a huge variety of cars. tons of fun. I literally drove in 500km and onto the track and ran and parked. tank was 3/4 full and I had about 40-50 lbs worth of stuff in my trunk as well as a subwoofer. Im pretty sure cooled down, less gas and with stuff out of the trunk and with a good run I could have been a tiny bit better but I wasn't too picky !

We tested the diffusor. It works. Topspeed increase by about 5-7 miles and the car sit more stable at high speeds on the street.

Sam that is beautiful !! Pretty much along those lines but not a centre exhaust. Do you have a template you would be willing to share/sell or even build one ? I think I'd be willing to fab up a centre exhaust for that one !!

Mine will be based on how my exhaust is setup now and just working around it.

A stock 1995 ZR-1 did run without diffusor 188 miles and with 193 miles per hour. We calculated how much additional crank horsepower a LT5 need to achieve 193 mph without diffusor and got a amount of 28 crank hp. With a diffusor the car accelerate a bit faster too.

It is a familiar disease. No known cure and no vaccines available for it. You just have to endure it until you are finished..I mean, better. Even afterwards you are still susceptible to catching it again--Bob

Not much to update. Will be pulling the rad and cleaning it out before I put it away and probably upgrading (not sure which rad to get yet) and adding an electric water pump which Ill probably wire in over the winter. Most likely add a stealth led light somewhere to let me know in the car that the pump is on. Decided to start the diffuser when I put it away since ill have it on stands already while I do complete bushings and hopefuly weatherstripping too over the winter.

Few recent pics and a little video having fun with my friends bolt on terminator cobra

Wasn't the best run we were talking and he started honking I was in 2nd at low rpm but decided to hit it anyways... Luckily he spun a lot which helped until I got the rpms up Will get a nice run with him during the day soon.
