That is a nice pic
Curious, did you go with 35w or 55w for HID fogs?

Thx ! I wqent 55w. To be honest I went with it because I don't use headlights BUT... these fogs don't direct the light in any way and with hids I have the light goes everywhere... and I mean everywhere. Not happy about it. I went on a cruise with the vette forum guys last summer and the c4 owner in front of me told me how bright it was inside his car. brighter than with his interior lights on I asked him because when I was behind him I could count the hairs on his head and see the detail in his headliner.. I had to keep turning them off. Its been on my mind if I go out with others at night not to be directly behind anyone which is why ill be making my custom lights over the winter. They will flip but have a much lower profile than stock. I cant wait !

Having said that I cant say if 35 watts is bright enough I cant be sure unless I tried it. For the most part the fact my car is low I think saves it a little.

I have 35w HID fogs on mine, from ex vendor corvettemods. I'd say they are bright enough cruising in the city at night, but not enough for back roads. In my 93 FSM, it says there is a way to aim the fogs. I haven't tried it yet. But since I have a bad ballast, I'm gonna buy some LED fogs. I've heard they reflect the light better. They cost more than the HID fogs, but I think they will be worth it. A guy had them in C6 section, and they were brighter than the HID. Headlight mod sounds cool

Edit: meant to spell night, instead of light

That sounds cool if the led focus the light in any way they are definitely better off. I think about doing a projector hid in the housing but that would require bumper removal

I may take her out tonight ill make a little video for you with them on/off at night if I do

Sweet When I buy the LED's, I'll post up a thread on it. Will compare the LED and HID, one of each turned on, facing the garage door. Projectors in the fog housing would be badazz

That would definitely be cool to see. Those comparisons are definitely valuable for everyone. When I got the car one headlight clicks when closed.. I bought bushings but haven't bothered since I don't use them anyways. As for being bright enough at night .. I'd say mine are but wether or not they blind everyone and opposing traffic is another matter. I put 550 km each way to the runway event and I did leave at 3am so it was dark for several hours. All of my videos including the cobra run above show how bright they are on the road and the cobra video is on a well lit road.

Not too much to update just yet but No .. not away for winter just yet !! I really enjoy driving it in cooler weather so I still have 2 months to go or so. Im waiting on the new rad to come in so I can replace the stocker and mod the thermostat a little. I was going to open it all up and clean it but I figured why not just replace it with a new one that will give me better cooling capacity and peace of mind of having the oem one fail during next years driving season.

I did add a new addition last week.. I sold the ctsv I had and even though I had to spend some on repairs (stage 2 t56 rebuild for $2k ) I made a nice profit and put it towards a New 2015 Mustang GT. I wont go into detail unless anyone cares but its an absolutely brilliant car Its has the Track pack and cloth recaros and is 6 speed manual.

Should have put the cash towards the Callaway kit instead of the Mustang. :-)

The wheels im looking at for the 5.0 are half an aerobody This is my dd so it will need to go through winter.. the aurobody wont help the z through that

So far I am loving it as a dd. Always had so much not to like about the previous generations but this one is fabulous to drive... if just a tad heavy. It has more in common than newer vettes with my Z ! Dohc and ind suspension !

Thanks ! Ive learned Im definitely a dohc guy lol. Sorry LS fans Im just not one of them. The ctsv may have been faster but it just goes BLAAAAHHH all the way through the rev range and wheezes over 5k. The coyote is smooth, and has a similar powerband to the Lt5. It really kicks on in the midrange and wants to rev up top. Definitely plan to do LTs catted to a corsa sport exhaust or other not sure yet. For now its coilovers, and a forged 3 piece deep concave setup. Still working out details on the offsets and widths im going to pull off the wheels and measure and tell them what I want. Cant wait ! Certainly is a great car and im loving it.

Back to the Zr1 my samco intake duct arrived yesterday and My 2 core aluminum rad arrived as well. hope to flush out the system.. and am looking at that waterless coolant stuff to use.. and can't wait to get out and drive it and see how the temps do compared to before.

Hey Mike,

You sure know how to enjoy life with a Mustang GT DD! Nice car and I'm sure you will mod that like no tomorrow too. I love the license plate on the Mustang. Can't wait to see all your future upgrades to all your rides.

Thanks Craig ! In all honesty.. its a great car. No, its not the same as a zr1 and I can honestly say its not nearly as special to me in just my feelings and experience when driving but the Mustang is a really good car that Im loving driving every day and through the winter.

I will have updates shortly for the zr1. My to do list has grown really long and there are a few cool things that I think you guys will find interesting

Hopefully you guys don't mind a little Mustang update but heres some work I did over the winter on the car. My custom forged 3 piece wheels are soon going to be ready but heres what I did so far..

Some suspension bits. Stock suspension is extremely soft and its a heavy car with decent power. I found pushing the car hard through corners was sloppy and I could feel the subframe and suspension movement when on the power in the turns especially. A lot had to do with the balloon 40 series 19" tires. My winters are lower profile 20s and even with the dsw06 all seasons the difference is night and day vs stock. Now its sharp, responsive and very predictable making power slides very controllable

WOnt post all the pics but I went with COrsa because they are T304. I polished all the visible piping to a mirrorish shine like I did on the zr1

before after from the back

zr1 updates soon !!

Damn dude nice

Off topic, but if you see a Fikse FM5 17x9.5 off a vette or 4th gen Fbody in your area, shoot me a PM. What wheels are on the 5.0?

Thx ! Will keep it in mind I am always searching for wheel projects WHeels are acealloy wheels. Relatively lightweight 20", much lighter than the oem 19s. They were able to cut the rear pads to my offsets I wanted which was cool. Was trying to go for that aston martin/euro look with the car. Have had a few old people ask me if it was a jaguar including one gentleman who was driving a rolls Royce at a gas station

Probably should have mentioned I did get my motor back for my 93 LT1 car after 9 long years ! It only made 575 hp on 2 break in pulls but that was at 6500 rpm and running a dual plane while the cam is specced for 7500+ and with the short runner Lt4 manifold I have were expecting 620-630 hp Ive definitely got my hands full this season with all 3 cars although Im not tinkering with the mustang at all anymore.
