Default ***** New record for my CARTEK/STS Rear mount turbo 9.4 at 148.7 (Video Inside ) ****

Well , It was another great day at the track , set another new best ET and MPH .
60FT 1.534
1/8 Mile 6.155 at 118.68
1/4 9.446 at 148.79

The car was making between 13-14lbs of boost throughout all my runs today and I was hitting the rev limiter just before the end of the 1/4 on most of my runs (time for a taller tire or less gear) . I was extremely happy with the car today , and had a blast hanging out with all the other guys and their fast cars . I once again drove it to and from the track in my street trim with just an air pressure change to the drag radials , I just got in from the track , stopped at the mall and went to watch my high school alma mater in the NJ State football playoofs on the way home .

Another huge thanks to Cartek and Rodney at RPM Transmissions( I will make a seperate post regarding this) , my trans went bad in the beginning of the week , and these guys pulled through for me big time .

Julio from Cartek should have the timeslip and video up by tomorrow .

Thanks for the props everyone , I love the turbo , I always wanted a turbo car , but couldn't afford some of the other well known turbo kits , this basic rear mount single turbo set up( right down to the stock exhaust manifolds ) was all I could afford , and although it's not the optimal turbo kit , it works and runs with the best turbo set ups on the market , to think that my low budget single turbo car is the second quickest IRS Turbo C5 behind the great LPE 427 C5R head Twin-Turbo automatic that went 8.95 , still amazes me , and is a true testament to Cartek's awesome knowledge of making LS1 cars fly down the track .

My initial goals for this set up was to run 9.50's and trap mid 140's , now that I've accomplished that , I'd like to set some new goals , but that may have to wait until late next year , I'd love to turn up the boost and do a Turbo-400 tranny conversion with a trans brake and run eights , but I just can't afford it , and I love how streetable my car is right now with the 4L60E and with Rodney at RPM Transmissions awesome trans and customer support , I'll see how far I can push the 4L60E . I'll see how far I can take the car as is , and try to save some money for some upgrades late next year , Rick at STS is going to send me a bigger intercooler to help when I turn up the boost and there is an upgrade available for the turbo to make it a bigger GTS-80 .

Mike

That car is pure pleasure to watch go down the track. You get off the line amazingly fast without a transbrake. A tribute to your driving skills and to the setup from Cartek.

Nasty, just Nasty

Here's the video of a 9.46 pass , http://www.challengevideos.com/2005/...notears_06.wmv

the car hits the limiter on the 2-3 shift and hits the rev limiter at the top of the track . Thanks Edgar for posting the vid .

The 9.44 vid should be up tonight .
